ECOBRICKS PROJECT

 Needed:

1 empty water bottle (1 litre)
Unwanted trash, like wrappers, sachets, packaging from the market, etc.
A will to persevere 

All you have to do is collect and fill the bottle with clean and dry non-biodegradable plastic waste generated in your home by way of packaging. Fit it all in nice and tight so that it feels like a brick. There should be no air pockets. It should take an average home about two weeks or so to fill one such bottle.

Caution: Do not put any soiled or smelly plastic inside. If you want to add milk packs, please wash and dry them first. Even water should not enter the bottle. 

Tip: Keep it in a handy place closest to the spot where you are likely to unpack any thing you buy. (We keep a plastic bag near the fridge and when it’s full, we empty the contents into the bottle.)

Benefit: This concept, if it catches on, will help contain litter to a great extent. 

I use water bottles because they are too brittle for recycling. If you need a demo and a bottle to use, please let me know. And once you have the bottle ready, call and expect a small surprise from me!

 Look at these two items. Both are oats but are priced differently. The obvious choice, if you are not brand conscious, will be to purchase the lower priced one in terms of unit price. The Lion oats, however, has a ziploc bag packaging so it can be reused whereas to reuse the Saffola oats one we might need to use a clip or rubber band.  Now look at the item below.  What do you think about the packaging? OWN LESS, ORGANISE LESS.

  In 2022, we moved from a 92 sq m flat to a 70 sq m one. The reason for the move wasn't minimalist though. We just wanted, or rather I just needed, a place on the ground floor. My knees were showing signs of early osteoarthritis and climbing up stairs was getting to be a huge chore. I avoided going out as often as I would have liked to just because of the anticipated pain that I would be sure to experience when I returned home.  So, with a heart full of expectations, I moved my family to this new, seemingly smaller 🏠.  Now don't get me wrong. SHINE YOUR SINK

  T he first baby step you are asked to take in the FLYLADY method is to  SHINE YOUR SINK.   When I first heard it, I was wondering why shining the sink was pivotal to keeping my home tidy. But, I decided to OBEY. Every night, before I reset the kitchen, I would wash up all the utensils and shine the sink. In one article, someone said to wipe it down after shining it.
